All Natural Lip Exfoliant

Have you ever try making your own lip recipe?  Why not treat your lippies to your own homemade exfoliant? There are so many different  foods inside your kitchen that can be used as  lip remedy. Sometimes it is just fun to experiment and see what works for you. I'm gonna share you one.  A simple recipe to try yet effective.

Ginger's Lipspice

a drops of honey
a dash of freshly milled coffee beans
a pinch of chili
Combine altogether = HOCOCHI

Warning: Too much chili can burn your pout.

Note: I like the hot feeling on my lips that's why i added chili.
Chili is a good lip maximizer.
Discard if you do not like.

Exfoliating Instructions:

Put a small amount of spice on your lips and start rubbing gently in a circular motion. Leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse and pat dry. And don't forget to moisturize right after.

G's tip: You can use the left-over as a face mask or a skin scrub as well. Exfoliating once a week works better. Do a patch test if you are in doubt of allergy.

My point of view:
The mixture of the three ingredients gives a yummy smell and taste.  I love the hot feeling during the first application. It works well on my lippies. Using hocochi is already a part of my beauty routine. And for me this is the easiest and natural way to eliminate the stubborn flaky skin on my lips. Hocochi is pocket friendly for those who has limited budget this is the way to go.

Have fun ladies!
 Don't be afraid to experiment.

DIY Makeover

I was bored with my outlook. Almost a week i stayed at home. Icy, foggy, frosty outside. This sucks me! To keep my day busy and to surprise  hubby I did a total make-over for myself.

G is wearing a woolscarf from Zegna(grabbed from hubby)
 Gant pullover
 Woolskirt from Maxmara
 Falke tights
 Shoes from Bruno Banani
 Fossil watch,
 Bag from Aigner
Earrings from Mizaki
Accesory from Alex Max
For her make-up:
Lancome Absolute Seduction Palette
Lancome Coffret de Maquillage
Alverde Baked Rouge in 09 Copper
P2 pearl Dream Eyeshadow
Pizbuin Sun Lipstick
Loreal True Match Concealer
Lancome Hypnose Mascara

For her Hair:
Vaseline Shampoo
Creamsilk Conditioner
Wellaflex Hairspray
Vidal Sassoon Curling Iron

You can make the look by your own by choosing your favorite color. I have chosen bronze and purple for a smoky effect look. Here's how to do it?
G's tip: Condition your lips before you start the make over.
  • Start with a good base.
  • Use a concealer to hide your dark circles and blemishes.
  • Use a lighter shade to add color all over the lid area and above the socket bone
  • Sweep the darker color along the bottom lash line and the outer corners of the eyes.
  •  Smudge slightly with your fingertips.
  •  Apply an extra layer of darker shade if you want to have a more intense look.
  • Apply a kohl pencil to your lower lash line and finish it with your favorite mascara.
  • Using a lipbrush blend the color on your lips and add top it with a little gloss for a perfect pout.
  • Give your cheeks a pretty flush of pink or peach for a warm glow.
  • For a sexier look divide your hair into two parts. Start from the lower part. Heat the iron and  and begin curling your hair in a sliding position. Separate your locks using your fingers  and finish it with strong hold hairspray. Finally you are done!
as I always say stay pretty!

Posh Nails

I like this logo pretty much. After seeing Heide Montag showing off her posh nails in fashion magazines I wanted to give myself a try just for fun.  So today  after so many trials and errors, I did my first chanel inspired nails.

How to do it?

All you need is a black, white polish, tip painter,  and a top coat. I used my tip painter because it is easier for me to draw a curve than using a dotting pen or toothpick.

I used Rimmel Polish in 800 Black Out
Catrice Nail Expert Tip Painter
Lacura Beauty Clear Coat

  • Apply the first coat. Let it dry for about a seconds.
  • Swipe another coat of black polish on your nails and wait until it becomes dry.
  • Start drawing the letter C or copy the Chanel logo. Use your desired tool.
  • Clean the excess polish around your nails using a swab.
  • Finish it with your favorite clear  coat.
  • Finally you are done and ready to party!

Wishing you had fun doing this.
Keep your nails pretty and healthy!

How to Keep Your Skin Healthy and Glowing?

Our oustide appearance reflects our inner health. A clear skin is a healthy skin. Having a healthy, younger looking skin is a dream of all of us.  Here are some tips that will help on your way to a beautiful skin.

  • Eat the right food. Try to eat atleast a portion of your desired fruits and vegetables daily. Your skin needs a well-balanced nutrients. By maintaining a balanced diet can help your skin look best.
  • Keep well hydrated. Rehydrate your body by drinking plenty of water. The more water you drink the better. One common cause of tired-looking skin is dehydration.
  • Give up smoking or never start. Terrible smoking can cause premature aging and yellowing  skin.
  • Lessen your coffee or tea intake. Too much drinking of coffee and tea contribute dryness of the skin.
  • Keep your alcohol intake low. Try to drink moderately.
  • Get enough sleep.  By maintaining a constant pattern makes your skin looking fresh.
  • Do regular exercise. It can increase the blood flow and maintain  your skin's elasticity and gives a healthy glow.
  • Protect yourself from the sun. Apply much sunscreen. Wear sunglasses, wide brimmed hats/umbrellas or sun clothing designed to block ultraviolet rays.
  • Treat yourself gently. Clean, Expoliate, Moisturize. Do not abuse your skin. Choose a mild cleanser. Exfoliate atleast once a week . Find a moisturizer that suits your skintype. Excessive washing depletes the natural oils and  makes the skin dry. Give your face a time to breathe.

G's extra tip: I am taking ascorbic acid, biotin,  and vitamin E daily . Do not squeeze spots though it is tempting. Just ignore it.

Today was a very hard day.  I cooked german food and Wolfy helped me a little bit. A total disaster for today. The kitchen was messy. This was the longest cooking i did for the first time.  I'm gonna post soon. That's all for now.

Stay always healthy!

Fresh in Bloom

The Joy of Stamping

What i used?

Catrice Nail Expert Smoothing Base Coat
Catrice Nail Expert Painter
P2 Nail Art Topcoat
P2 Color Victim Nail Polish in 130 Passion
Rival de Loop Young Express Color no.14 Sparkling Princess
Basic nail Art Pen
Konad Schablone m57

How i did?

First, i cleaned my nails. Then i started applying the base coat. I let it dry for a seconds. I put a little tip painter on my konad plate  scraping the area, and stamped it on my nails, repeating until all my nails were done and tipped it with a sparkling polish. Using my pen  i made small dots in the middle of the flowers and topped it with top coat for an ultra shiny, clean finished look.

Note: If you do not have a Konad plate you can draw a flower by using a toothpick or a pen. Just be creative.

I'm gonna make it next next time for my daughter and nieces.
I'm sure they will be happy falling in line in front of me.
That's all for today.
Wishing you all a great weekend!

Love & kisses,

The Benefits of Carrot Oil

I had a minor skin problem two weeks ago  due to the cold climate i guess. I  ran to the nearest drogerie to look for a good alternative. I wanted to try organic cream . I didn't buy a cream actually instead i grabbed this little bottle after reading the packaging.  I went home hurrily,  tried it first on my wrist. No allergic reaction occured. So i applied it on my face. It worked out. The outcome was really good. My skin turned back into normal and glowing. My secret? I combine it with chinchunsu.

The benefits? Carrot oil is very effective anti-aging. It is a rich source of vitamin A which is essential for the skin, helps prevent our skin against dryness and wrinkling. It reduces fine lines and blemishes as well. You can apply  it as moisturizer, and use it as a gentle expoliator or as a facial scrub by mixing it with granulated sugar.

Quick Tips

I am not a certified MUA but i attended some beauty workshops. Every woman needs a good set of brushes.  Having the right brushes is  the secret to a perfectly make-up application.

The reason why i've choosen these product is because it has a superior quality of bristles. It is  made of all natural goat, squirrel, pony, and raccoon hair. The grip is  birch wood in a glossy silver color. I like the softness of the hair. It can  pick-up the pigments easily even tiny particles without leaving any smudges. I am truly satisfied with these tools.

How do i maintain my brush supple and in shape?
I wash my brushes once a week using a mild shampoo, rinsing the bristles with a tap water until the color disappear. While washing i make it sure that the water should not reach the middle part where water seep through the ferrule and it will lead to oxidation and separation of the two parts. Then I air dry it by laying flat on a clean towel. After drying i put it back directly in the case. Brushes last longer if you clean it properly.

Nails

Are your nails strong and healthy?
Here are simple guidelines to keep your nails looking their best:

  • Wash your hands regularly and dry it thoroughly. Keep your nails dry and clean. Bacteria and other microorganism are rapidly growing under your nails.
  • Moisturize your hands including nails and cuticles. Our nails need to be moisturize just like our skin does. Before going to bed put a little handcream, lotion or cuticle cream into your nails and massage it gently.
  • Do not bite your nails. This habit can make the nails rough and dull.
  • File and trim your nails regularly. It is easier if done just after bathing or right after soaking the nails.
  • Maintain a healthy and balance diet. Eat food rich in Zinc. It helps the body to build keratin making our nails more stronger.
  • Take a biotin supplement. If your nail is prone to chipping taking a tablet or capsule daily helps increase the thickness of the nails.
  • Drink plenty of water for a smoother nails.
P.S.

If you depend on manicures, keep a few things in mind. Don't have your cuticles removed. It can lead to nail  infection. Check to be sure that all tools used during your manicure are properly sterilized.

Grateful Weekend

<><><><><><><>
Good Morning!
<><><><><><><><><>
It's a beautiful Sunday. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. I can feel and smell the autumn breeze. I see the morning dews flowing on the leaves of a wilting grasses. What a great feeling to see the trees are swaying and the leaves are being blown away by  a strong winds. A flock of birds flying happily around.  I wish every day is a brighter day. Today i got up a little bit late. I had a horrible sleep lastnight. I slept only three hours.  Missing my Porkie... My husband is away for a week. Right now i am feeling free! I'm gonna have a peaceful week. But honestly i miss his company. Sleep deprivation makes me feel bad. I need a nap. But i cannot do it right now. My mind is occupied  thinking of  my next weekly menu plan. Meanwhile I need a little break. I must cook coz I am hungry. Here's what i have cooked for lunch.
Sauteed Tuna Flakes in Tomato with Basmati Rice

and for my dessert

You can eat it also as a snack. A very healthy choice instead of junkies. It is very easy to prepare. Try this if you wish to have a slender body ;)

Then after lunch i did also some flower arrangement.
Nice right?

I love flowers very much. My week is not complete without it.
Life without flowers is gloomy.
I don't like to be sad..
Happiness comes from appreciating little things like this.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy day!
